New Sesame Street Ebook for iOS and Chrome Web Store Released

If you are a fan of Sesame Street and own an iOS device the latest ebook from Sesame Street has now become available for the iPhone, iPod Touch and Apple iPad, and at the same time has also become available for the first time via the Chrome Web Store.

According to an article over on Mashable, Sesame Street has released Bert and Ernie’s Great Adventures: What’s Cooking? Ebook to the App Store, and is the first time a Sesame Street ebook is available via the Chrome Web Store.

According to the Mashable guys the iOS app enables the user to record their own voice for playback whilst both versions of Bert and Ernie’s Great Adventures: What’s Cooking? feature digital colouring of images and reading along.

The Chrome Web Store is now available to people in North America and enables the user to install both paid and free web apps across numerous devices, and as apps are built using HTML5, porting those apps to other devices is much simpler.

The Mashable guys purchased the Chrome Web Store version and say that although both voice recording and quality are good, experience leaves a bit to be desires, and they feel that it “underscores” why iOS devices and Android tablets will have the edge over kid’s CD-Rom books.

We also have a quick promo video of Bert and Ernie’s Great Adventures: What’s Cooking? for your viewing pleasure below courtesy of the SesameStreet YouTube page, so don’t forget to check it out.

The Bert and Ernie’s Great Adventures: What’s Cooking? Ebook for the iPhone, iPod Touch and Apple iPad can be downloaded from iTunes at a cost of $2.99, while the Chrome Web Store version costs $1.99.
