It’s being quiet astounding to know that Xperia Play from Sony Ericsson is one of the most glorified devices of recent times. However this device had long been known as the PlayStation Phone and was leaked more times than we can remember.
This device features a 1 GHz processor, a 5.1MP rear facing camera, microSD slot, VGA front facing camera, a 4-inch touch-screen, 512MB of RAM, accelerometer and more. However, the biggest selling point of this device is its slide-out gamepad.
Seeing how a touch-screen isn’t exactly the best way to control a game, this gamepad will help the Xperia Play target gamers looking for a new smartphone. While the regular version will ship in black you may remember that we told you about an exclusive white version not too long ago.
Originally we had known that this device will initially be exclusive to the UK but we weren’t sure exactly which carrier would get the honours. Now, reports have surfaced that say O2 will be the only UK carrier to offer the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play in white. However there’s still no word on when exactly it will be out.
