MWC: HTC unveils six new Android devices

Manufacturer steps up intent with the release of five handsets and a tablet at MWC

HTC has unveiled six new devices at the 2011 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this morning.

The HTC Flyer tablet (pictured,back), the HTC Desire S (pictured, right), the HTC Wildfire S, the HTC Incredible S, the HTC ChaCha and the HTC Salsa (pictured,left) will all run on Android as HTC Sense, the manufactures’ user interface.

The Flyer has an internal storage capacity of 32GB, 1GB of RAM, dimensions of 195.4 x 122 x13.2 mm and has a 7 inch touch-sensitive TFT screen with 1024×600 resolution. It also has a 5 megapixel camera and a 1.3 mega pixel front camera.

The Desire S has a 1GHz processor, internal memory of 1.1GB dimensions of 115x 59×11.63mm, a 3.7 inch touch screen with 480 x 800 resolution and five megapixel camera.

The Incredible S is slightly bigger, with a 4 inch touch screen and offers a high resolution camera – 8 megapixels and also has a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera.

The Wildfire S is smaller than both the Desire S and Incredible S offering a 3.2 inch touch screen but has a five megapixel camera.

Speaking about the Desire S, the Incredible S and Wildfire S HTC Corporation chief executive Peter Chou said: “ These new phones offer an exhilarating mix of style, innovation and features that extend people’s mobile experience in ways that feel personal and completely original.

The ChaCha and the Salsa have both been developed to be ‘Facebook focused’, providing a “one touch” option that will open up the social network site.

The ChaCha has a 2.6 inch touch screen smaller than the Salsa’s which measures 3.4 inches. Both run on Android.

Orange has confirmed it will stock the ChaCha, the Desire S and the Wildfire S in the UK in Q2 2011
