Locationlabs along with T-Mobile have announced the DriveSmart text-blocking app.
The Android app protects users by detecting if they are driving, and then stops them from texting. T-Mobile users can subscribe to the service for $4.99 a month if they have an LG Optimus T, with other phones to follow.
While in motion, incoming calls are sent to voicemail and an auto-response SMS message is sent to senders of incoming texts.
