In addition to the XPERIA arc and the yet-to-be-announced XPERIA Play, you can now add the Vivaz 2 to Sony Ericsson’s 2011 Android line-up. Yes, that’s right folks. Sony Ericsson’s Vivaz line, originally of Symbian lineage, just went Android.
Also known as the Sony Ericsson MT15i or Halon, the Vivaz 2 boasts of a 1GHz Qualcomm processor complemented by Adreno 205 graphics, a sub-4-inch 480×854 resolution Bravia-powered display, 8-megapixel rear-mounted camera with EXMOR optics, front-facing camera (rating unknown) with light sensor, WiFi, Bluetooth, 512MB RAM, and 1500mAh battery. Just like Sony Ericsson’s other new offering, this baby also runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
It certainly looks like a worthy upgrade to the first Vivaz, and if Eldar Murtazin’s preview of this at Mobile-review is any indication of how great it actually is, then this is definitely something to watch out for. Predicted to arrive in April, we’re eyeing MWC as the big event where Sony Ericsson will officially unveil this baby to the the rest of the world.
