HTC preps new Android and Windows handsets

HTC 7 Pro and Gratia to launch in the UK in February, the handset manufacturer’s latest Windows Phone 7 and Android-based smartphones

The HTC 7 Pro and and HTC Gratia smartphones will launch in the UK next month.The HTC 7 Pro will be available through HTC’s distribution partners Brightpoint GB and Brightstar with the Gratia available through Brightstar only. Pricing and network availability is yet to be confirmed.

The HTC 7 Pro (pictured right) is the company’s latest Windows Phone 7 handset. It comes with a slide-out, tilting 3.6-inch screen to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard as well as a 1GHz processor, five megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, HD video recording and Dolby Mobile for increased audio quality.

The Gratia (pictured left), which will be available in white, runs off Android 2.2 and comes with a 3.2-inch touchscreen, optical trackball for navigation and five-megapixel camera with autofocus. It includes the manufacturer’s user interface HTC Sense, which comes with features such as making the phone ring louder if it is in a bag or pocket or decreasing the volume when it is picked up to answer a call. The Gratia also features Friend Stream, an application that brings all social networks into one flow of updates.
