A latest Motorola phone just hit the FCC filings with the model ID IHDT56MJ1. This device at the FCC has CDMA and EVDO, which is what lead to the speculation that it is both a Verizon phone.
The other ‘Intel’ that leads us to believe it is the Droid X2 is that a 180 day short term confidentiality request is attached to this FCC device. Using speculative reasoning, that would put the phone too far out to be the Bionic, and just about a year out from the original Droid X.
That would put it in the right time-frame to be a ‘sequel’. Rumoured specs on the phone include a 4.3-inch screen (540960 resolution), a dual-core Tegra 2 processor and 8MP camera. We will keep you informed as details appear. In the mean-time… what do you guys think of this phone? Is it a Droid worth waiting for if it turns out to be the Droid X2?
