Seagate have now started shipping their latest internal hard drive creation in the form of the Seagate 3TB Barracuda XT providing extra storage if required. The drive is now shipping and comes with Seagate DiscWizard software to overcome legacy capacity limits of 2.1TB with no additional hardware required.
The new Seagate 3TB Barracuda XT is equipped with a 64MB cache and 7200-RPM to complement the extra capacity, delivering a powerful combination of storage and high-end desktop performance in one drive.
Its performace specifications include : Spin Speed (RPM) 7200 RPM, Sustained data transfer rate 149Mb/s, Average latency 4.16ms, Random read seek time 8.5ms, Random write seek time 9.5ms and an I/O data transfer rate of 600MB/s.
The new Barracuda XT high-performance desktop drives are now shipping and available in 2TB and 3TB capacities with a massive 64MB cache and the fastest SATA interface, SATA 6Gb/s.
