‘Never pay for the internet’ allows customers to use as much mobile internet as they like and includes a free smartphone from 12 a month
The Carphone Warehouse has today (April 6) launched a new offering through its MVNO TalkMobile where customers can access ‘truly unlimited’ mobile internet and receive a smartphone from as little as 12 a month on a 24 month contract.
The new deal called “Never pay for the internet’ has, according to Carphone have no “small print or fair usage policy” and says people signing up for unlimited internet will be able to use as much as they like.
It puts Carphone in direct competition with Three, which at present is the only operator to offer customers as much mobile internet as they want through its ‘All You Can Eat’ package.
The pricing of Carphone’s new offering rises to 30 a month on 24 month contracts depending on the handsets they choose.
The handsets available range from the HTC Wildfire on the 12 deal, to the Motorola Defy for 18 a month, through to the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play for 30 a month.
In total, 70 per cent of the retailer’s smartphone range can be purchased through the deal.
Carphone says the offering is part of its wider drive to provide smartphone for “everyone” and called the deal “revolutionary”.
Carphone UK trading director Mark Eastham said: “The TalkMobile ‘never pay for the internet’ demonstrates fantastic value and is unbeatable in the market.
“We wanted to offer customers a catch free data tariff and we’re really looking forward to seeing the results of this trial.”
